Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection mechanism for being used in an elongate medical device.SOLUTION: An actuator 46 of a deflection mechanism 42 in an elongate medical device 10 includes a rotatable body which includes a channel. The cannel may include a plurality of recesses. The deflection mechanism may further include an activation wire having a proximal end and a distal end, and a wire lock attached to the proximal end of the activation wire. The wire lock may be disposed within the channel and configured to be placed therein when an actuator body 48 rotates. An adjustable stop part may be arranged over the channel so as to apply a force to the wire lock as the actuator rotates to increase tension on the activation wire.
