COMPONENT FEEDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component feeder capable of increasing the productivity by increasing the efficiency of tray replenishment work made by an operator.SOLUTION: In a process in which a component replenishment operation is performed to supply components 3 stored in a tray 5 to a loading head 51, when the number of remaining pallets 12, each of which holds trays 5 piled up on a tray loading stage 13, is small, a controller 53 determines the number of the remaining components 3 stored on a tray 5 supplied to a second position B2 (loading work position). When the number of the remaining components is sufficient, the controller 53 controls the tray loading stage 13 to lower to a tray replenish position A2 and to wait at the tray replenish position A2 until the number of the remaining components 3 stored on the tray 5 supplied to the second position B2 gets small. With this, the waiting time of the operator to wait for lowering of the tray loading stage 13 is reduced, and the efficiency of the tray replenishment work can be largely increased.
