LUMINANCE CONTROL DEVICE, LUMINANCE CONTROL METHOD AND MOBILE PHONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminance control device capable of decreasing power consumption by reducing a driving current.SOLUTION: A drive device comprises: a detection section in which, each time a pulse inputted via a single signal line is detected, a luminance count value is monotonously decreased by 1 and in the case where the luminance count value is 1, it is changed into N; and a supply section for supplying, as a driving current, a current of a (luminance count value/N) multiple of a maximum supply current which is determined in accordance with a value of connected variable resistance. The luminance control device comprises: a reception section for receiving a designation of a target luminance value; a luminance control section for outputting to the signal line, pulses as may as a number required for changing the luminance count value into a value equal to the target luminance value; and a load control section in which, while the luminance count value becomes greater than the target luminance value in a period when the pulses as many as the required number are outputted, the value of the variable resistance is made larger than a resistance value at the time when the target luminance value is received.
