PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for battery capable of preventing buckling or collapse due to pressing effectively, while obtaining excellent high speed charge and discharge characteristics, and to provide a manufacturing technology therefor.SOLUTION: An electrode 10 for battery includes a substrate 11 having a function as a collector, and an active material layer 12 where a plurality of active material lines, formed of an active material and extending in a predetermined extension direction, are arranged on the surface of the substrate 11. The active material lines include a first line 121 having a first width W1 in a cross section perpendicular to the extension direction, and a second line 122 having a second width W2 larger than the first width, in a cross section perpendicular to the extension direction, and a height H2 from the surface of the substrate 11 which is equal to or higher than the height H1 of the first line 121.
