PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of accurately detecting operation by a detection object on a projected image.SOLUTION: A projector 100 includes: laser light sources 103 to 105 that output laser beams; an image projection unit 109 that includes an MEMS mirror 109a for scanning the laser beams and projects an image onto a screen 3; a light receiving unit 2 that receives the laser beams reflected from a touch pen 5; and a main CPU 101 that acquires a movement state of the touch pen 5 from a light receiving result of the laser beams received by the light receiving unit 2 and detects operation by the touch pen 5 on the projected image on the basis of the movement state of the touch pen 5.
