Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine suppressed in the drop of a cooling power when a cooling device thereof becomes abnormal.SOLUTION: An outboard engine comprises: a cooling water passage 113 arranged at least partially around a catalyst 74 for guiding cooling water to cool an exhaust passage; an air vent hole 124 arranged above the catalyst 74 and connecting the inside of the cooling water passage 113 to the outside of the cooling water passage 113; and a restriction valve 125 for flowing a fluid via the air vent hole 124 from the inside of the cooling water passage 113 to the outside of the cooling water passage 113 thereby to regulate the flow of a fluid through the air vent hole 124 from the outside of the cooling water passage 113 to the inside of the cooling water passage 113.
