Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake system and a brake control method capable of achieving efficiency of negative pressure supply by an electrically-driven vacuum pump, and prolonging service life of a pump.SOLUTION: The brake system comprises an electrically-driven vacuum pump (7) supplying negative pressure to a brake booster (3) and stops the electrically-driven vacuum pump at either one timing which is earlier of cases, where vacuum degree of the brake booster becomes larger than a preset predetermined upper limit value or where continuous operation time of the electrically-driven vacuum pump becomes longer than preset predetermined time. Thereby, negative pressure supply of the electrically-driven vacuum pump is improved and service life of the pump is prolonged.
