FIXING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus using an electromagnetic induction heating system, configured to achieve uniform temperature distribution at a low cost without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: A side core 54 arranged in a longitudinal direction of an induction heating unit is integrally insert-molded in a case 55 which is a coil holding member for holding a coil 51. In a joint part (facing close part) between an arch core 52 and the side core 54, a gap formation part 57a is formed with a resin member of the case 55. The height of the gap formation part 57a forms a gap between the arch core 52 and the side core 54. The case forms a gap between the cores, thereby generating no variation of the gap even if the size of the arch core varies, without adding any component. Uniform temperature distribution can be achieved without increasing the number of components or assembling manhour, accordingly.
