Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an electric vehicle which has a simple structure and enables sufficient defrosting.SOLUTION: An air conditioner for an electric vehicle includes a heat pump circuit having compression means, an indoor heat exchanger, condensation means, and an outdoor heat exchanger and supplies air controlled by the air conditioner to a passenger compartment of the electric vehicle. The outdoor heat exchanger is provided with mechanical removal means which removes frost adhering to a surface of the outdoor heat exchanger. The air conditioner for the electric vehicle further includes a control unit which activates the mechanical removal means when the vehicle is in a drivable state.
