PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which allows minimizing the arrangement space for a row of gears which transmit driving force from a driving source to individual rollers and a maintenance unit for maintenance of the recording head.SOLUTION: An apparatus includes a recording head 38 which records an image by discharging ink droplets onto recording paper 12 carried in the front-back direction 8, a carriage 40 which is mounted with the recording head 38 and moves in the right-left direction 9, a maintenance unit 66 which is arranged within the movement range of the carriage 40 and executes maintenance of the recording head 38 in such a state as to face the recording head 38, a base portion 72 which is attached with the maintenance unit 66 and molded integrally with a resin and plurality of gear shafts 82 which are molded integrally in the left wall part 81 in such a state as to be protruded along the right-left direction 9 from the left wall part 81 of the base portion 72.
