Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing a reduction in image quality.SOLUTION: A printer control device acquires output signals of a reflective optical sensor 2245 obtained when a light shielding member 100a is in a "closed state" as pre-operation information before the operation of a color printer is started, and calculates a light intensity correction coefficient from the output signals of the reflective optical sensor obtained when the light shielding member is in a "closed state" and the pre-operation information, in surface state check processing performed after the operation of the color printer is started. The printer control device then corrects an influence of a change in temperature and a change over time of the reflective optical sensor with respect to output signals of the reflective optical sensor obtained when the light shielding member is in an "open state" by using the light intensity correction coefficient.
