Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and accurately obtain the position of a mobile object.SOLUTION: By focusing on the characteristics of a position orienting system in which relatively high orientation accuracy is obtained near antenna array axes (X-axis direction flat surface, Y-axis direction flat surface) of an antenna group 25 of a base station 20 provided on a mobile object (robot 10), the mobile object captures three or more wireless devices 30 placed above an area, near the antenna array axes of the base station 20 provided on the mobile object, thereby obtaining a relative direction in which each of the wireless devices 30 viewed from the mobile object itself is present. On the basis of the relative direction and wireless device information stored in advance or obtained from each of the wireless devices 30, the mobile object obtains the absolute position of its own and the absolute direction of the axis (reference axis) of its own, in the area.
