LATERAL TRANSFER METHOD OF HEAVY OBJECT, AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral transfer method of a heavy object, capable of simultaneously performing longitudinal transfer and lateral transfer irrespective of whether two rails are parallel to each other or not, and an apparatus therefor.SOLUTION: In a lateral transfer apparatus for heavy object by which a laterally long heavy object 10 is mounted on load receiving boards 30 of a lateral transfer device 20 mounted on at least two rails 12 and is transferred laterally, longitudinal transfer devices 21 are attached to the load receiving boards 30 of at least any one of the rails. Each of the longitudinal transfer devices 21 is equipped with a hydraulic jack 34 capable of changing a distance between the heavy object 10 and the load receiving board 30, an intermediate position of a tension bar 38 is fixed to the load receiving board 30, both ends of the tension bar 38 are extended in the axial direction of the heavy object 10, and both ends of the tension bar 38 are engaged with the hydraulic jacks 34 fixed to the heavy object 10, respectively.
