RUNNING STATE DETECTION DEVICE AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running state detection device for detecting where in a preset passage route a current location is positioned and providing a notification, that accurately detects a corner where a runner is running.SOLUTION: Current direction data based on positioning data obtained by a GPS reception unit 24 and geomagnetic quantity data obtained by a geomagnetic sensor unit 25 are compared with corresponding reference direction data and reference geomagnetic quantity data, respectively, after each certain time period. When it is determined that any of the current direction data and the geomagnetic quantity data changes to exceed a preset detection threshold, it is determined that a runner has passed a corner. At this time, a certain period from the determination of the passage of the corner is set as a determination inhibition period in order to prevent such wrong determination at one corner that the runner has passed a corner plural times. Consequently, it can be correctly determined that the runner has passed a corner on a set course, and positional data and distance data at a check point corresponding to the corner can be corrected to accurate values each time.
