Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to direct a discharge direction of scraps during pruning work to a direction other than an operator direction to improve workability.SOLUTION: A pole saw comprises: an operation rod 4; an engine section provided at a terminal end of the operation rod 4; a gear case 5 provided at a tip end of the operation rod 4; a sprocket 25 which is provided on one side face of the gear case 5 and rotationally driven by the engine section; a chain bar 6 attached to the side face; a saw chain 7 stretched between both of the sprocket 25 and the chain bar 6; and a side cover 9 which is provided to the gear case 5 so as to cover an attaching portion of the sprocket 25 and the chain bar 6. The saw is configured that a side-face scrap discharging port 13 is provided on a side face of the side cover 9.
