IMPROVEMENT OF RECEIVER PERFORMANCE IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially overcome one or a plurality of disadvantages in an existing configuration.SOLUTION: A model of transmission line characterizing the influence of inter-carrier interference is estimated for at least one carrier in a multi-carrier system. A reception symbol is decoded using an estimation model in order to remove the predicted influence of inter-carrier interference. A preprocessor operating together with a communication receiver in a network is also explained. The preprocessor comprises a communication path estimator operating to estimate at least one feature of a communication path based on a received signal. The preprocessor adjusts the received signal according to at least one estimated feature, and provides an adjusted signal to the communication receiver.
