Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cask having a shock absorber that is able to support reaction force resulting from delay fall impact due to an object accommodated inside, without significantly increasing shock acceleration when falling vertically from its head.SOLUTION: A cask 100 comprises: a bottomed, cylindrical cask body 1 storing radioactive substance; lid bodies (2, 3, 4) closing an opening provided in the upper end part of the cask body 1; an annular main shock absorber 5 mounted around the upper end part of the cask body 1; and a columnar auxiliary shock absorber 7 mounted inside the main shock absorber 5 and on the upper face of the lid body 4 (tertiary lid 4), which is crushed more easily than the main impact absorber 5. The auxiliary shock absorber 7 is set to the height at which, when the cask falls vertically from its head, the auxiliary shock absorber 7 collides with a floor surface together with the main shock absorber 5.
