FLAKY GRAPHITE OXIDE CARRYING METAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flaky graphite oxide carrying a metal usable as a low cost catalyst or an electrode material, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A flaky graphite oxide carrying a metal is a flaky graphite oxide carrying not as an aggregation of a plurality of metal atoms but as a single metal atom. The flaky graphite oxide carrying a metal is formed through: a process of liquid phase oxidation of a powder-type graphite to prepare a graphite oxide; a process of adding a metal complex or a metal salt with a diamine compound to dispersion solution in which the graphite oxide is dispersed, to prepare a graphite oxide intercalation compound in which the metal in the metal complex or the metal salt is introduced into the graphite oxide by ion exchange; and a process of heating the graphite oxide intercalation compound in inert gas atmosphere to exfoliate into a flaky shape.
