PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce alien talking further and improve frequency response of a cable having a twisted pair of one or more signal wires.SOLUTION: A cable foil tape having a shape of a random or pseudo-random pattern or long pattern-length discontinuous metal and a method of producing the foil tape having the pattern are provided. In some embodiments, a region or a path of a metal layer of the foil tape is removed selectively, and a random distribution of a randomized shape, a pseudo-random pattern or a long pattern-length discontinuous shape is formed on the metal layer by using a laser cutting system. In some embodiments, the foil tape is double-sided, having a metal layer on each side. The laser cutting system can cut a nonconductive passage to the metal layer on both sides of the foil tape.
