ROTARY TYPE OPERATING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type operating device and an electronic equipment provided therewith capable of preventing a play when a rotary type button is positioned, increasing a click feeling, and further, making the movement of the rotary type button smooth.SOLUTION: The rotary type operating device includes a rotary type button 40 rotatably attached to an attaching part 21 of an equipment casing 20. The rotary type button is formed with a plurality of recessed grooves 48 on a circumference with a rotation center of the rotary type button as a center on an opposing surface to the attaching part. The attaching part includes a plurality of cylinder parts 70, 80 which are opened toward a rotation transfer path of the recessed grooves. Each cylinder part is arranged with balls 71, 81 which are energized by a spring 90 toward the rotation transfer path of the recessed grooves in such a manner as to be capable of protruding from/receding into an opening. At least one cylinder has an inner diameter different from the other cylinders.
