PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant supply device which supplies lubricant to the lubricant supply device without generating down time of the device, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A lubricant supply device includes: an end detection sensor 42 (first detection means) for detecting that the amount of lubricant remaining in a lubricant storage unit 44 is empty (or nearly empty); and a near-end detection sensor 43 (second detection means) for detecting a state where the amount of lubricant remaining in the lubricant storage unit 44 is larger by a predetermined amount than the amount detected by the end detection sensor 42.
