Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a knitted fabric to be easily designed even when the knitted fabric has a complicated outline, or a center where the apexes of parts gather is shifted from the center of the outline in the knitted fabric.SOLUTION: The position of a center where the apexes of parts to be formed by dividing a knitted fabric gather is input (S2), and the number of the parts is determined. The knitted fabric is divided into a plurality of parts each formed as a triangle having an apex at the center, a base formed by the peripheral edge of the knitted fabric and two sides formed by lines connecting both ends of the base and the center. For each part, it is evaluated whether the number of stitches corresponding to the length of the base can be reduced while the condition of the reduction is satisfied (S5). When it is determined that the reduction cannot be performed, the number of the parts is increased, or the base of the part is shortened. Then, a turn-back line is generated parallel to the course direction so that the difference in the number of stitches between the two sides of the part is corrected by flechage knitting of turning back in the part, and reduction courses are generated so that stitches are reduced by the number of stitches in the base.
