COLOR FILTER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter and a method for manufacturing the color filter suitable for achieving high definition and high color purity without generating a cavity in a color layer, and to provide a display device.SOLUTION: A color filter 10 is manufactured by forming a color layer 3 having the following profile from a positive resist by a proximity exposure method in an opening (A) of a black matrix 2 having a line width of 1 to 7 μm on a transparent substrate 1. In the profile, a medium point Ph is defined at a point of a half value height Hh between a maximum height Hmax at a maximum point Pmax and an end height Hs at an end start point Ps; and a bottom start point Pb is defined at a point where the black matrix meets the color layer on the substrate surface. The profile satisfies such conditions that: (a) a taper angle at the medium point Ph is 50 to 90°; (b) the end start point Ps is located on the black matrix; (c) the color layer is continuously in contact with the black matrix surface from the bottom start point Pb toward the end start point Ps, and when the color layer further overlaps an adjoining color layer, the color layer continuously in contact with the adjoining color layer to the end start point Ps located on the surface of the adjoining color layer; and (d) no canopy top B is present from the end start point Ps to the maximum point Pmax. The display device includes the above color filter.
