Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Si-killed steel wire further excellent in a fatigue characteristic and a spring.SOLUTION: There is a Si-killed steel containing a specific chemical composition and in which 80% in the number contains a specific CaO-AlO-SiO-based inclusion, and an average composition of the CaO-AlO-SiO-based inclusion satisfying (3A) satisfies (3B). (3A) MnO+AlO+SiO≥80% and MnO>CaO when CaO+AlO+SiO+MgO+MnO is standardized as 100%. (3B) MnO:10 to 70%, AlO:3 to 50%, and SiO:20 to 75% when CaO+AlO+SiO+MgO+MnO is standardized as 100%.
