Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium refining apparatus and a magnesium refining method in which the heating temperature is maintained at constant when refining magnesium by heating using sunlight energy.SOLUTION: A magnesium refining apparatus includes: a receiving container 20 for receiving a sample B that comprises magnesium compound; and a light collecting unit for collecting sunlight to irradiate the receiving container so that the inside of the receiving container is heated to a prescribed temperature, and the receiving container has a reaction portion 21 for generating magnesium vapor from the sample by heat reductive reaction when heated to a prescribed temperature by the light collecting unit, and a condensation portion 22 for condensing the magnesium vapor, and on the enclosure surface of the receiving container there is provided a sunlight transmission member that transmits the sunlight collected by the light collecting unit, and the reaction portion is held inside of the receiving container, and a sample is carried in to the inside of the reaction portion.
