PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet image formation apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile machine, a plotter, a printer or a multifunction machine including a plurality of these including an intermediate transfer body to which recording liquid such as ink discharged from heads is applied, and capable of realizing suppressing a recording target material from curling without entailing an increase in energy consumption and an increase in the size of the apparatus.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer body 37 to which recording liquid discharged from heads 61Y, 61M, 61C, and 61BK is applied; and transfer means for transferring an image carried on the intermediate transfer body 37 as the recording liquid onto a recording target material. The transfer means includes a transfer member 38 for pressing the recording target material for transferring the recording liquid carried on the intermediate transfer body 37 onto the recording target material by putting the recording target material between the intermediate transfer body 37 and the transfer member 38.
