Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface modification agent for transparent oxide electrode which can reduce the hole injection barrier from a transparent oxide electrode to a hole transport layer while keeping small liquid repellency of the surface, and to provide a transparent oxide electrode subjected to surface modification, and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A surface modification agent for transparent oxide electrode contains a reactive silyl compound represented by general formula (1): Rf-X-A-SiR(OR)(1)(In the formula, Rf is an aryl group of 10C or less which may have an alkyl substituent of 1C-5C, at least one hydrogen atom is replaced by a fluorine atom, X represents a bivalent group selected from -O-, -NH-, -C(=O)O-, -C(=O)NH-, -OC(=O)NH-, -NHC(=O)NH-, or a single bond, A represents a linear, branched or annular aliphatic series of 1C-10C, or a single bond). A surface-modified transparent oxide electrode coated with the surface modification agent, and a method of manufacturing a surface-modified transparent oxide electrode are also provided.
