Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross-linked collagen implant having improved volume stability ("sustention"), useful for correction and orthopedic surgery of a deep layer of skin.SOLUTION: The cross-linked collagen implant material includes a cross-linked collagen filler composition which is manufactured by a method including the steps of: incubating a collagen selected from the group consisting of I-type collagen, II-type collagen, III-type collagen, IV-type collagen, V-type collagen, telo-containing collagen, atelocollagen, derivatized collagen, and a combination thereof, in a suspension or solution having a pH in the range of pH 2 to 5 or pH 9 to 12, so as to form into a micro or non-fibril collagen; treating the collagen with a cross-linking agent selected from the group consisting of carbodiimide, polyaldehyde, polysulfone, activated PEG, epoxide, imidazole and diisocyanate, in particular with glutaric aldehyde, at pH 2 to 5 or pH 9 to 12; and isolating the cross-linked collagen.
