APPLICATION SOFTWARE FOR VOICE READING CHARACTERS RECOGNIZED BY CAMERA OF SMARTPHONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application software for enabling a short-sighted or presbyopic person having difficulty in reading a printed matter to operate a smartphone so as to make the application software to voice read the printed matter.SOLUTION: A shutter button (4) is pushed above a printed matter to be voice read, with the use of a camera function (3) of a smartphone (2). Then a range specification button (5) is pushed so that an OCR software performs optical character recognition and creates text data. The application software makes a speech generation device to pronounce the text data. In the event of a printed matter in which vertical writing and horizontal writing are mixed, or which requires specification of reading out such as newspaper, an order of reading out can be specified by tracing the text data with a finger.
