Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking member which achieves good workability for attachment/detachment.SOLUTION: A cylinder 430 for a second shaft masks a masked part of a second shaft 800 when a paint is applied to the rod-like second shaft 800 held in a vertical state. The cylinder 430 for the second shaft includes: a cylindrical body 431 that forms a space between a first inner peripheral surface and the masked part and fits on the masked part from the outer side of the masked part; and a cylindrical skirt part 432 which extends downward from a lower end of the cylindrical body 431 and has a second inner peripheral surface 432a where a diameter expands from a lower end of the first inner peripheral surface 431a toward the lower side.
