Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of no capability to tune the write current individually to each of write coils within each writer assembly of a HDD, arising because each of one or more write coils is wound in series within each writer assembly.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for independently driving at least two write coils (428, 430) within a writer assembly using separate preamplifiers (440, 442). The writer assembly comprises: a first write coil (428) independently driven by a first preamplifier (440); and a second write coil (430) independently driven by a second preamplifier (442).
