A nutritional supplementary food, a food and a livestock feed or a pharmaceutical composition contain such an extract or a volatile component thereof. The oregano extract is extracted from all or some of a plant belonging to Origanum such as origanum vulgare and Thymus such as thymus vulgaris. An extraction method is solvent, NO, supercritical COor steam distillation, or the like. The oregano extract is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor and a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and serves as an antidepressant drug, a mood improving agent, a stress emollient, a symptom improving agent, an anxiety reducing agent, an obsessional behavior reducing agent and the like. The administration target includes animals such as domestic animal and pet, fishes, and the like.
