Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method of a hybrid vehicle, which can suppress fuel consumption in a case when the hybrid vehicle is traveled by power of at least one of an electric motor and an internal combustion engine, and can improve fuel efficiency.SOLUTION: A control device of a hybrid vehicle for controlling motion of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor comprises an ECU. The ECU calculates an engine fuel consumption amount FC_eng and an EV fuel consumption amount FC_ev when each of an engine travel mode and an EV travel mode is executed while executing the EV travel mode according to requested torque TRQ and vehicle speed VP (step 41), and selects the engine travel mode when the engine fuel consumption amount FC_eng is smaller than the EV fuel consumption amount FC_ev, and selects and executes the EV travel mode when the EV fuel consumption amount FC_ev is smaller than the engine fuel consumption amount FC_eng (steps 42 and 43).
