DRAIN STRUCTURE OF WEATHER STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain structure for draining submerged water penetrating in a grip part of a weather strip, which does not damage a sealing property and can drain in the grip part with a simple structure, wherein the weather strip includes a grip part having an approximately U-shaped cross section and provided with a plurality of holding claws on an inner side, and a seal part which is integrally formed with the grip part and is in elastic contact with a back door in closing the back door, and is mounted by inserting the grip part into a flange of a back door opening edge part of an automobile vehicle body.SOLUTION: A flange 7 includes a projection part 16 projected by press work on a vehicle outside side surface of the flange 7 of a backdoor opening edge part 2. Two holding claws 4d, 4dare projected on each of the vehicle outside side wall 4b and a vehicle inside side wall 4c of a grip part 4 of a weather strip 3 inserted in the flange 7. The holding claw 4don a base part side of the flange 7 engages with the projection part 16 and a clearance is generated around the projection part 16 to generate seal disconnection, and water penetrated between the holding claws is discharged.
