Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required for an image forming device, etc. to recover from an energy-saving state.SOLUTION: When an image forming device 1 is in a standby mode, both main power supply SW90 and sub power supply SW100 are turned on, and they supply power to a control unit 60 and also to peripheral devices (image forming unit 10, image reading unit 20, user interface 30 and transmission/reception unit 40). When the sub power supply SW100 is turned off in the standby mode, the image forming device 1 shifts into an energy-saving state. Before the image forming device 1 completely shifts into the energy-saving state, a CPU 61 stores initialization function information of an application which controls the peripheral devices in a volatile RAM 66 or a non-volatile RAM 67. When the sub power supply SW100 is turned on in the energy-saving state, the CPU 61 reads out the initialization function information of the application stored in the volatile RAM 66 or the non-volatile RAM 67, and controls the image forming device 1 to recover from the energy-saving state.
