PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a user to easily check the image of a content reproduced after a view allowing time when the reproduction of the content does not terminate within the view allowing time in an image display device.SOLUTION: A TV receiver determines whether the termination time of a user's view allowing time is present within a calculated time (the initiation time of a content being viewed or to be viewed + the length of time of the content) (S12). If it is present (YES in S11), the TV receiver calculates a portion reproduced after the view allowing time. Then, the TV receiver acquires reproduction image (video data) of a content to be viewed, which is reproduced after the view allowing time (S13). If it is displayed in a moving picture (YES in S14), the TV receiver decodes the acquired video data and displays moving picture (S15). On the other hand, if it is displayed in a still picture (NO in S14), the TV receiver acquires the video data as a still picture by capturing the video decoded from the video data, and displays this still picture (S17).
