Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent significant torsion of a recording medium as well as trouble to be caused by slack of the recording medium, in a conveyance path leading from a transfer nip part to a fixing nip part.SOLUTION: In a conveyance path leading from a transfer nip part M to a fixing nip part N, a plurality of detection means 50A, 50B detect the amount of slack of a recording medium P at a plurality of lateral positions. When a difference between the maximum slack value and the minimum slack value is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold, driving speed of driving means 58 in a fixing part 20 is controlled according to the amount of slack.
