PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device assembling method which can appropriately set a clutch clearance.SOLUTION: A clutch device assembling method for assembling a clutch device having a dry type multi-plate clutch 40 comprises: a preloading process for imparting a preload to the dry type multi-plate clutch 40 in the axial direction; a measurement process for measuring an axial dimension of the dry type multi-plate clutch 40 after the preloading process; and a clearance setting process for setting a clutch clearance corresponding to stroke amounts in coupling of both friction plates on the basis of the measured dimension. The preload applied in the preloading process is set to be a preload exceeding a non-linear region in which there occurs a variation that an axial dimension of the dry type multi-plate clutch 40 corresponding to the preload exceeds a set range in the axial dimension depending on the roughness of a friction facing 43.
