Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display substrate in which display inspection can be performed by applying a voltage to an electrophoretic display layer without implementing a driver IC or a flexible cable.SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display substrate comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, and an electrophoretic display layer held between the substrates. The first substrate includes a plurality of gate lines, a thin film transistor, a sub pixel electrode, a capacitive element having a first electrode and a second electrode, a plurality of capacitive element electrode lines, and a common electrode line, in which one of the source terminal and the drain terminal of the thin film transistor is connected to a data line while the other is connected to the sub pixel electrode and the first electrode, and the capacitive element electrode line is connected to the second electrode. The second substrate includes a common electrode formed on one surface thereof, in which the common electrode is connected to the common electrode line. The first substrate includes a region where the second substrate is not bonded, in a top view from above the second substrate; and the region includes a region where a gate driver is placed and a region where a data driver is placed.
