RUBBER ROLL AND ITS PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber roll and its process of manufacture in which it has improved more an effect for preventing occurrence of wrinkle shift and air film.SOLUTION: An outer peripheral surface of a roll main body 10 of a rubber roll 1 is formed with a plurality of grooves 11 arranged in an opposite helical manner to each other against a central part of its longitudinal direction under a prescribed interval L. Each of the grooves 11 is filled with rubber 13 having lower hardness than that of material of the roll main body 10. When the rubber roll 1 is rotated, its web is mainly gripped with a charged part filled with rubber 13, it is shifted from the central part of the roll toward its right and left sides, resulting in that occurrence of wrinkle is restricted. Further, since there are provided prescribed spaces between the right and left charging segments at the central part in a width direction of the roll, its central part shows a weak gripping force of the web, it is easily moved in friction toward a helical direction, so that the web is shifted toward its right and left sides to restrict occurrence of wrinkles.
