PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus for controlling a position of a carriage on the basis of the number of pulses, capable of preventing error of a count value after resetting a pulse counter at a reference position of a carriage.SOLUTION: If a count value of a status counter 203 at a position at which a carriage 102 stops after being pressed against a sidewall is smaller than a count value in a pressed state, the count value is corrected so that a converted count value is a value counted one more and a 300LPI counter 201 is reset on the basis of the corrected value when converting the count value according to a moving amount since the state in which the carriage 102 is pressed against the sidewall until the carriage 102 stops from 1200LPI to 300LPI.
