Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a power conditioner which can improve the failure detection accuracy of a solar panel, and provide the power conditioner.SOLUTION: A control unit 16 detects a possible failure/trouble of solar cells 1-1 to 1-3 for each string, then stops MPPT control of the string and creates an output characteristics graph by changing current or voltage. The control unit 16 further compares output characteristics in normal conditions and the present output characteristics to thereby diagnose the failure/trouble of the solar cells 1-1 to 1-3, determines the type and magnitude of the failure from the created output characteristics graph, and performs optimal control depending on the type and magnitude of the failure.
