Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a base tread capable of improving low fuel consumption property, rubber strength, steering stability, crack growth resistance and abrasion resistance while having excellent workability without a requirement of a mastication process, to provide a method of manufacturing the rubber composition and a pneumatic tire.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a rubber composition for a base tread containing a modified natural rubber having the phosphorous content of 200 ppm or less, carbon black and/or a white filler and having the content of the modified natural rubber of 10 mass% or less in 100 mass% of a rubber component.
