Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a projection type display device capable of suppressing deterioration of image quality attributed to a frame body provided on a light emission side of a liquid crystal panel.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal panel 11 including an effective pixel area 11a which emits light corresponding to an image; and a frame body 14 provided on a light emission side of the liquid crystal panel and including an aperture 14a counter to the effective pixel area 11a of the liquid crystal panel 11. An edge part of the aperture 14a of the frame body 14 is made of low reflective material having a reflection rate of less than 1.5% with respect to green light.
