Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load control device capable of preventing generation of a high voltage caused by brownout of a load, and that enables constant current control depending on a luminous intensity control signal even in the case that a secondary side of an output transformer is short-circuited or in the case that the load is reduced.SOLUTION: A load control device 1 comprises: a plurality of saturable devices 11 connected in series to each other; a plurality of loads 12 to which power is fed via each saturable device 11; phase control means 2 performing phase control of an output voltage of an AC power supply Vs to feed the power to each load 12; bypass means 3 that can flow a bypass current reduced so as to bypass the phase control means 2 from a zero cross point of each half cycle of the AC power supply voltage; and control means 4 setting an output of the phase control means 2 and controlling to uniformize the set output value, and stopping the flowing of the bypass current under a condition that the output value becomes a predetermined value or less.
