Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a eukaryotic cell having the ability to use L-arabinose and/or to convert L-arabinose into L-ribulose, and/or xylulose 5-phosphate and/or into a desired fermentation product and to provide a process for producing a fermentation product in which the cell is used.SOLUTION: A eukaryotic cell expresses a nucleotide sequence coding arabinose isomerase, L-ribulokinase and L-ribulose-5-P-4-epimerase. A process for producing ethanol comprises the step of converting xylose into ethanol using the eukaryotic cell.
