Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a continuously variable transmission mechanism 4 which is mounted on a vehicle for continuously varying the speed of input rotation from a power source (an engine 1) and outputting the rotation, while hardly giving discomfort to a driver when the continuously variable transmission mechanism 4 is changed over into a stepwise variable speed mode.SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission mechanism 4 is configured to adjust a changing speed of a speed ratio γ. The continuously variable transmission mechanism 4 is changed over between a stepwise variable speed mode in which the speed of input rotation is stepwise varied and a continuously variable speed mode (for example, a normal variable speed mode) in which the changing speed of the speed ratio is lower than in the stepwise variable speed mode, and reduces the changing speed of the speed ratio γ for a predetermined period (Steps ST4, ST5) when changed over from the continuously variable speed mode into the stepwise variable speed mode (Step ST2).
