Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of effectively utilizing a wasteful space and downsizing its size more than the case when a refrigerant passage is opened to the anti-output-end side of a drive shaft.SOLUTION: A refrigerant passage 20 is opened to the output end side of a drive shaft 13 in the axial direction of the drive shaft 15 and closed on the anti-output-end side of the drive shaft 15. Then, a front plate 13 closing an opening of the refrigerant passage 20 is mounted on a body part 12 via an inner peripheral side bolt 31 and an outer peripheral side bolt 32. Thus, the inner peripheral side bolt 31 and the outer peripheral side bolt 32 for mounting the front plate 13 closing the opening of the refrigerant passage 20 on the body part 12 are arranged in a portion overlapped with a first bearing B1 in a housing 11 in the radial direction of the drive shaft 15.
