Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve fuel economy of a vehicle while suppressing deterioration of a battery in the vehicle enabled to perform inertia travel in which the engine brake force is lower than in an engine-brake travel.SOLUTION: In consideration of power consumption due to activation of a motorized power steering system 26, a difference is made in upper limits of steering angles X in starting execution of a free-run inertia travel and of a neutral inertia travel on the basis of determination as to whether it is possible to charge a battery 24, and therefore it is possible to widen a range of the steering angle X executing an inertia travel while suppressing deterioration of the battery 24 to improve fuel economy, regardless of the power consumption due to the activation of the motorized power steering system 26, compared to the case in which such inertia travels are executed uniformly in a certain steering angle range.
