Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target cell separation method and a target cell separation apparatus capable of separating target cells from a solution containing contaminants, with the sizes and affinity of the target cells taken into consideration and to make it possible to analyze and culture the target cells after separation.SOLUTION: A target cell separation apparatus has a modification surface 2 of a biopolymer 2A which binds specifically to a protein expressed specifically on the surface of a target cell, formed on a microfilter 3 having a filtering size smaller than the diameter of the target cell 5 and on a surface of a substrate 1 constituting a part of the microfilter. A target cell separation method introduces a solution with the target cell and a non-target cell 5' to form a contaminant suspended therein to the target cell separation apparatus, causes the target cells 4, 4' having the specifically expressed protein on the surface thereof to act on the biopolymer 2A on the modification surface so that the target cells are captured on the modification surface of the substrate, thereby separating the target cells having the specifically expressed protein on the surface thereof from the non-target cells.
